Parenting Challenging Children
…A program that stresses the need to develop and guide children with positive approaches to behavioral change, effective strategies for discipline, and positive self-management
 PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Parenting Group Therapy Program is intended to provide parents of challenging children group support and an opportunity to learn new skills. You would benefit from participation in this group if you have a child who experiences mood or behavioral problems, has academic difficulties or struggles socially. The group would also be appropriate for parents of children who are experiencing an adjustment, loss or change.
Parents with children of all ages are welcome. We will be focusing on issues such as limit setting, perseverance, control and power and time outs for kids and parents. The group process will help members to identify and build upon existing strengths and develop positive family experiences.
Group therapy will consist of 90 minutes sessions which will meet for six consecutive weeks. Services are provided at CrossRoads at 175 River Street in Janesville. Group therapy is covered by most mental health insurance plans.
