Leah is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Psychiatric and Mental Health Care. She is able to treat the psychiatrically ill, with physical problems; as well as the physically ill with psychological problems. Her advanced training allows her to provide both professional counseling for individuals, couple, families, and groups; along with the prescribing and monitoring of medications, and their effects.
Her certifications are as a Board Certified Clinical specialist from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Licensed Professional Counselor, Nurse Prescriber, Chemical Addiction, and Drug Counselor, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Her Masters of Science Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing is from the University of Illinois Chicago. She has over 19 years of inpatient, and outpatient clinical experience, which has enabled her to develop expertise in helping individual and families deal with complex medical, psychiatric, and substance abuse problems; as well as expert guidance and referral resources.
